Foot.....

The origin of the word foot, has been speculated that it was because King Henry 1st had a foot that 12inches, including is foot ware so he wanted to make the measurement of foot 12inches.

Foot is not a SI unit . Its size vary for system to system. However, the most used length is 0.30480m 304.80mm

The disadvantages of using foot as a measurement is because it is not the same from country to country unlike the matrix system.

Today, (17 feb 2010)

Hi , today I went for my science lesson as usual. We had to do and experiment on pendulum. The experiment setup consist of a string to tie the pendulum on, a stopper and a retort stand. We first had to mark equal distance have 1 to 100 on the string. After that, you will need to fasten the string into the cock. Finally, fasten the cock with the retort stand. Your pendulum is ready.
Next we had to place the pendulum at a 10 degree angle, let it go and see how long it takes for the pendulum to swing 10 times. Repeat the experiment using different string length. I found out a very interesting result, as the string length shortens, the shorter the time needed for the pendulum to swing 10 times!
After we had finished the experiment, we had to plot a graph to show our result. After that, the bell rang and we were dismissed. What an interesting day at the science lab!!
